Howard and Lois Adelmann Regional History Collection

The mission of the Adelmann Collection is to serve as a regional history information resource for states and communities throughout the Midwest; and in particular to encourage the appreciation, study, and understanding of the history of the Illinois & Michigan Canal and the development of its surrounding communities.

To fulfill this mission, the Collection assembles, organizes, preserves, and makes available research materials relating to the history of the I&M Canal and the social and economic development of communities along it. In addition it supports presentations, publications, and local exhibits relating to the area.

The É«ÖÐÉ« History Center manages the Adelmann Regional History Collection with support from the É«ÖÐÉ« Library.
