Live on Campus Requirements
Because of our commitment to student success: All full-time first-year (0-29 credits) and second-year (30-59 credits) students whose permanent address is outside of a 30-mile radius from the Romeoville Campus must live in the residence halls. Students may request an exemption from the residency requirement under the following conditions:
- If you are 21 years or older before August 1st of this academic year.
- You plan to live within the approved area with a parent or guardian before this academic year (Proof of address will be required)
- You are married or living with a spouse
- You have one or more years of active duty in the military
- You are the parent of a dependent child.
Please contact the office of Residence Life at reslife@lewisu.edu or 815-836-5581. Requests for exemption will not be accepted after July 1st for the Fall term or December 1st for the Spring term. You will receive a written response from the Office of Residence Life as to the status of your request within 5 business days.
